Events

The face-to face exchange of ideas is also critical to our success.

While this website is the virtual hub for much of the CU Housing Roundtable dialogue, we also host ongoing events for the face-to-face exchanges of ideas and insights.  Our main event is the annual CU Housing RoundTable meeting.

Fourth Annual CU Housing RoundTable Meeting
The Fourth Annual Meeting of the CU Housing RoundTable will take place September 29 and 30 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV, immediately preceding this fall’s ACUMA Meeting, which begins at 1 pm on the 30th.

The meeting will begin at 1 pm on September 29, and conclude by 5 pm. The RoundTable will host a reception from 6 pm to 8 pm, also in Caesars Palace. We’ll continue on the morning of the 30th at 8:30 am, concluding by 11:30 that morning.

This year’s meeting will address two topics: Meeting Credit Union Housing Finance Liquidity Needs and Reverse Mortgage Lending. On Tuesday afternoon we’ll hear from the group that began working on the liquidity issue since the Third Annual Meeting. Our industry’s recent, steady increase in market share, historically low rates and the uncertainty of the role GSEs will play in the future are some of the interesting questions we’ll address. Attendees will be among the first to receive copies of the Challenging the Financial Models White Paper, one of two papers the RoundTable will publish this year.

On Wednesday morning we’ll be discussing reverse mortgage lending. We’ll hear from a leading expert in the field of Reverse Mortgage Lending then hold a working group session on the topic. Our objective will be creating strategies credit unions can quickly enact to serve senior members. Attendees will also be among the first to receive copies of the second edition of the RoundTable’s Reverse Mortgage White Paper.

The past two years have been a period of untold and unimagined challenges. Mortgage lending, however, has been an industry bright spot. Our market share is growing, and public awareness that credit unions are trustworthy, reliable lenders is increasing.

Strategically and financially, housing finance is providing our industry a way forward. The RoundTable’s sole purpose is to further strategic thought and action, doing so with all volunteer assistance. Won’t you join us in Las Vegas, and be one of those volunteers? You can make your hotel reservation by clicking here.

We look forward to seeing you in September.
